The Citizens are only fourth in the league following a shock draw at Wolves, but on the whole they continue to impress, and they have had the most shots of any club by far. Pep Guardiola’s men have pulled the trigger 91 times - resulting in a league-high 11 goals so far. The three teams above City in the actual table are Chelsea, Liverpool and Watford. Fiorentina star and Chelsea target Chiesa announcesd £63 million offer made

Federico Chiesa claims Fiorentina turned down £63million bids from unnamed clubs this summer, with Chelsea reportedly interested in trying to secure a deal.
Chelsea were linked with a whole host of transfer targets in the summer as the Blues looked to signa few players that could help Maurizio Sarri challenge Manchester City for the Premier league title.

And 20-year-old Chiesa was reportedly high up on the transfer list of the Italian boss after another impressive season in Italy, and according to reports Fiorentina were open to the idea of doing business with Chelsea.

However, Chelsea could not complete a summer deal for the young man as Fiorentina wanted upwards of £70 million for Chiesa, a fee which Chelsea were not prepared to pay.

He told Corriere della Sera: ‘Fiorentina refused offers of £63m. The summer has been peaceful, there were no anxieties related to the market because, in agreement with the club, I decided that I would stay in Florence.

‘It was the best choice, and knowing that I’m worth so much does not detract from my sleep, nor does it affect my life.

‘Prices in recent years have skyrocketed and I’m simply going to try and not think about it.’

Here is what we think.

Chelsea will one day need an adequate replacement for Eden Hazard with reports he is keen to leave the club at the end of the season and finally join Real Madrid, if they pay the £200 million asking price.

So Chelsea may once again decide to renew their interest in Chiesa next summer if the little Belgian leaves, although paying more than £60 million for his services would be a little too much, as right now he is still developing and needs a few more years before he is worth that kind of money.
