The Citizens are only fourth in the league following a shock draw at Wolves, but on the whole they continue to impress, and they have had the most shots of any club by far. Pep Guardiola’s men have pulled the trigger 91 times - resulting in a league-high 11 goals so far. The three teams above City in the actual table are Chelsea, Liverpool and Watford. Hey Emery this one is for free! Gunners legend Parlour sends message to Arsenal boss

Gunners legend Ray Parlour has urged Enai Emery to follow Pep Guardiola’s blueprint at Manchester City if he wants to be successful at Arsenal.
There is a lot of expectation on the head of Emery this season after he replaced Arsene Wenger as head coach, and fans are expecting him to challenge for the Premier League title and not just challenge for a top four spot.

But his season has not started too great as Arsenal have lost their first two Premier League matches this season – a 2-0 loss at home to City and a 3-2 defeat at Chelsea.

And Parlour feels the Arsenal boss could use his compatriot’s success as an example to his players.

He said: “I know he [Emery] is trying to play out from the back. There were occasions during the Manchester City game especially when it wasn’t working.

“And they are trying to play out like the manager said but as a football player you have to make the right decision and if it isn’t on – you go a bit longer.

“It’s the right way to play, [Pep] Guardiola has cracked it. He knew he had a problem with the goalkeeper and he addressed it with Ederson.

“He had a problem with the right-back, he addressed it with Kyle Walker, so maybe Emery has to go through some sort of situation as him.

“He needs to find out what his players can do and if they can’t do what he wants them to do, he may have to change some personnel and find the players who do that because that is the way he wants to play.”

Here is what we think.

When Guardiola arrived at City he already had a team that was full of world class players all over the pitch and all he had to do was get rid of the useless players and get the best from the rest.

Emery has inherited a team from Wenger which is lacking quality in key areas of the pitch, and a side that finished over thirty points behind their rivals last season.

So Emery needs to do what he has been doing during his whole career, play the way he wants, use his own tactics and not worry about what the media say as they will criticise even if Arsenal win.
