The Citizens are only fourth in the league following a shock draw at Wolves, but on the whole they continue to impress, and they have had the most shots of any club by far. Manchester United identify two leading candidates for directorial role at Old Trafford

Manchester United’s poor summer transfer window has been well documented. Now, it looks as though the club are doing what they can to fix those issues; by creating a new job role at Old Trafford. Technical director.
According to Sky Sports News, the two leading candidates for the job are current FA technical director Dan Ashworth, and RB Leipzig’s current youth recruiter Paul Mitchell.

Obviously, neither is a household name within this country, but I like the fact that the club are already looking to rectify their mistake. Ashworth’s success was evident at the World Cup as England took an extremely young squad to Russia and worked wonders. Whereas Leipzig have shot up the leagues in recent seasons.

Edward Woodward is great at his job. Whether you like him or not, there is no getting away from that. He makes The Glazers an awful lot of money through sponsorships and partner deals. However, he’s not a football man.

Bringing in someone who can work alongside Jose Mourinho is absolutely essential going forward. The self-proclaimed Special One needs help, he can only do so much by giving the powers-that-be a list of transfers. Hopefully, whoever we bring in is capable to secure those big-money deals swiftly and efficiently.
