The Citizens are only fourth in the league following a shock draw at Wolves, but on the whole they continue to impress, and they have had the most shots of any club by far. Pep Guardiola’s men have pulled the trigger 91 times - resulting in a league-high 11 goals so far. The three teams above City in the actual table are Chelsea, Liverpool and Watford. Man United warned about slow start under Jose Mourinho

Dean Saunders says Man United must get their campaign back on track quickly under Jose Mourinho
Ex-Aston Villa striker Dean Saunders believes that Manchester United must get back on track quickly to avoid a crisis under Jose Mourinho’s stewardship.

Manchester United already find themselves six points off the pace in the Premier League after a nightmare start to the 2018-19 campaign.

Shocking defeats against Brighton and Tottenham have caused the team and manager to be widely criticised in the media, amid reports of rifts at the club in both the dressing room and boardroom.

A 2-0 victory at Turf Moor against Burnley eased the pressure on Mourinho’s men going into the international break, but a trip to Vicarage Road to face high flying Watford beckons next weekend.

Former Liverpool forward Saunders insists that the club is not yet facing catastrophe, but he is worried about the negativity surrounding the squad.

He told The Daily Star on Sunday: “We’re four games in so it’s not a crisis yet, it’s just a bit of disarray.

“The only positive thing I heard coming out from Man United for the whole pre-season was that they were trying to sign Godin from Atletico Madrid.

“They were going sign him and I thought: ‘That’s positive, that’s someone – they’ll need him’. But they just need to start winning and obviously the attention goes on someone else.”

A win against Watford on Saturday would be a huge boost for supporters but a defeat would see the pressure pile on Mourinho even further, as the team looks to climb back up the table to mount a genuine title challenge.
