Manchester United was beaten 3-2 by Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday and Chelsea’s reported target Anthony Martial’s was subject of discussion as he put on a disappointing performance, and Chelsea fans were quick to react to his performance on Twitter.

It was reported in July by Sky Sports reported that Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri was determined to bring the Martial to Stamford Bridge to boost his attacking options, but before the transfer window closed earlier in August, no move was materialised.

During the summer, Martial was fined by Jose Mourinho by two weeks’ wages.

The France international forward was reinstated into the starting XI in the absence of Alexis Sanchez after he was unused sub in the opening day game against Leicester City, but instead of proving himself in the absence of the Chilean, Martial failed to make an impact before he was substituted for Marouane Fellaini on the hour-mark.

After the game against Brighton, Chelsea fans took to social media to express their thoughts on Martial’s latest performance, there were divergent views on the strikers display.

While one said he will never be good enough for Blues, another person said Martial really needs to move to Chelsea to rediscover his form.
