Luis Saurez Has Helped Arsenal To Sign Maverick Marksman, Agent Bentancur Confirms

Unai Emery has earned plaudit for reinforcing the Gunners squad but it was the signing of Lucas Torreira that threw the Gunners fanbase into a frenzy.
Torreira joined Arsenal this summer from Sampdoria in a £26 million deal but according to latest report, Uruguay striker Luis Saurez played a key role in the player’s move to the Emirates.

Arsenal had reached an agreement with Sampdoria for the transfer of the player before the World Cup but the player was a key figure for Uruguay in the just concluded mundial and his participation at the mundial stalled proceedings of the move.

Nonetheless, Saurez, who was also a subject of £40m plus £1 bid from Arsenal in the summer of 2013, okayed Torreira’s move to Arsenal.

Speaking after the deal went through, Torreira’s agent Pablo Bentancur spoke with Sport890, where he revealed that:’ ‘The recommendation of Luis Suarez was decisive for Torreira to arrive at Arsenal,’

Torreira arrived Arsenal only last week and he was involved in the Gunners pre-season game against Lazio that ended 2-0 in favour of Arsenal.

The diminutive midfield marksman appear to be gassed up on his hype and he has been tipped to do exploits at Arsenal.

Arsenal have lacked a natural defensive midfielder since the departure of Patrick Vieira and Alex Song but in Torreira they appear to have found one.
