Man City Pip Man Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham To Signing Of Young Nigerian

Manchester City have reportedly won the race for the signature of young Nigerian goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.

Regarded as one of the brightest young goalkeepers in the world at the moment, the 16-year-old Shamrock Rovers glovesman will sign a pre-contract with Man City, according to Irish Daily Star (via Irish Mirror).

Bazunu had been linked with moves to Liverpool, Celtic, Norwich City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur before agreeing terms with the Premier League champions.

The teenager's transfer to the Etihad Stadium outfit will be completed in January after he must have completed his studies in Ireland.

He kept four cleansheets in his first four matches for Shamrock Rovers in the League Of Ireland and was in between the pipes when they faced AIK Solna in the first qualifying round of the Europa League last month.

Tosin Adarabioyo, the Nmecha and Dele-Bashiru brothers, Chidiebere Nwakali, Nathanael Ogbeta, Osazee Aghatise and Timi Sobowale are the Nigerian starlets on the books of Manchester City.

Manchester City will pay Shamrock Rovers an initial €350,000 for Bazunu.
