Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are currently in a very dull phase and the Portuguese manager is crying out for new arrivals at Old Trafford. However, Mourinho is reportedly frustrated with the lack of quality signings this summer window and is now prepared to step up in the chase for top players.

The latest player on United’s radar is Spanish superstar Isco Alarcon, who is reportedly eager to leave the Santiago Bernabeu. Isco has hinted that he will leave the La Liga giants in order to receive regular football elsewhere. But the 26-year-old midfield maestro has been integral for the European champions helping them win the prestigious trophy thrice in a row.

And this news has not only shocked us football fans but also Arsenal legend Paul Mariner who believes that Real Madrid letting go of Isco would be ludicrous.
Mariner on Madrid and Isco-

Speaking to ESPN, the 65-year-old English international stated that there is a serious problem with Madrid if they plan on selling their prized midfield assets this summer, “I don’t get it. It doesn’t make any sense. We’re hearing (Luka) Modric to Milan; we’re hearing Isco to United. What’s going on in Madrid? Look, he’s a fantastic player. If Manchester United could get a player like that, of course, it would be amazing. I’d be staggered if Real Madrid let him go to Manchester United. I’m going to say this is a miss.”

Isco played for Real Madrid in the 2-1 preseason loss to Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Author’s Take-
Isco would be a stellar addition to Manchester United’s squad. But the main problem would be that Isco would not be able to play under the same freedom under Jose Mourinho which could hamper his game slightly. Although, Mariner is right is stating that Madrid would be making a big mistake by selling Isco especially in this transfer window.
